Experimental Study of the Concrete Cracking Behavior of an Immersed Tunnel under Fire

This study investigates the impact of fire on cracking behavior immersed tunnels. A reduced-scale (1:5) model an tunnel was constructed to conduct tests in both traffic tubes using HCinc curve as applied fire. Temperature field changes were carefully monitored during test by thermocouples and infrared thermography outer surface tunnel’s ceiling. The continuous temperature concrete cracks recorded thermography. By integrating distribution cracking, analysis depth under conducted. exceeded 150 mm at 95 min test. results indicate that inner exposed undergoes thermal expansion, leading tensile concrete. Additionally, fire-exposed is vulnerable due a decrease. Thus, design resistance tunnels should take into consideration potential for caused strain.
